How the Passive Video Balun RJ45 connects a camera
Use a matched Passive Video Balun RJ45 pair between an analogue camera and a compatible DVR channel. One unit connects at the camera end and the other at the recorder end, with the UTP run joining them. The BNC leads carry the video signal. The DC connectors route the required camera power through the assigned cable conductors.
The RJ45 socket is a connector type, not evidence of Ethernet networking. This accessory does not turn an analogue camera into an IP camera and should not be connected to a network switch as though it were an Ethernet device. It is also not an IEEE PoE injector or splitter.
Check the pinout and power requirements
Before installing the Passive Video Balun RJ45, confirm that both baluns use the same wiring arrangement. A cable that tests correctly for an ordinary network may still be unsuitable if the balun pair expects a different assignment. Identify the video pair and power conductors from the supplied unit’s wiring information before connecting the power supply.
Match the camera voltage, polarity, connector size and current requirement. Power pass-through does not regulate or boost the voltage. Long cables and thin conductors increase voltage drop, which can cause unstable operation, especially when night illumination switches on. Measure voltage at the camera under its actual load.
Choose cable and test the Passive Video Balun RJ45
Use suitable cable with known conductor material and sound terminations. Keep twisted pairs intact close to each termination and inspect for damaged plugs or loose BNC connections. Avoid routing the video cable beside sources of strong electrical interference where a better route is available.
Before installing a long run, test the camera, recorder and balun pair together on a short cable. Select the intended video format and resolution, then check live view and recorded playback. Extend the test to the proposed cable length and inspect both daylight and night operation. This is more useful than relying on an unsupported generic distance claim.
Understand the limits of an unbranded accessory
No exact manufacturer model or verified technical datasheet is supplied for this listing. Specific maximum resolution, transmission distance, surge rating and waterproof certification are therefore not promised. A specification from a branded balun with a similar appearance must not be treated as the specification of this unit.
Check the displayed price and confirm that the offered package contains the required camera-side and recorder-side units. Give Logic Gate Technology the camera model, DVR format, cable type and proposed distance when requesting guidance. These details help identify whether a passive connection is appropriate for the installation.
